The tour begins at dawn, walking a 5 km trail from the tropical river canyon near the Cali Zoo to the famous Gato del Río sculpture park. Along the way, a local expert will help you spot and identify birds, understand their behavior, and listen to their calls. You might see more than 30 different species in a single morning.

Begin your morning with a peaceful walk along the Cali River canyon, starting near the zoo at 6:00 a.m. Guided by a local expert, you’ll learn how to birdwatch, use binoculars, and spot over 30 bird species in their natural habitat.

As you follow the 5 km trail, expect colorful tanagers, flycatchers, and hummingbirds, plus plenty of chances for photos. The tour ends at the iconic Gato del Río park, passing over 30 open-air artworks surrounded by birds and nature.

The tour will operate rain or shine unless considered unsafe to operate. 

A minimum of 2 guests are necessary to operate the tour. We combine guests from different hotels/hostels to complete this group. If the group size is smaller than 2, the tour will be rescheduled or the guest is offered to pay for two guests to operate the tour.

Maximum group size: 15 guests.  

You can cancel up to 24 hours in advance of the experience for a full refund.

• For a full refund, you must cancel at least 24 hours before the experience’s start time.
• If you cancel less than 24 hours before the experience’s start time, the amount you paid will not be refunded.
• Any changes made less than 24 hours before the experience’s start time will not be accepted.
• Cut-off times are based on the Colombian local time.
•  This experience requires a minimum number of travelers. If it’s canceled because the minimum isn’t met, you’ll be offered a different date/experience, to book an additional spot or get a full refund.
